THE ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND GROUP plc ('RBS') COMPLETES INVESTMENT IN BANK OF
CHINA

Following receipt of all required regulatory approvals, the consortium led by
RBS which agreed in August to acquire a 10 per cent strategic shareholding in
Bank of China Limited has completed the investment.
