                          Northumbrian Water Group plc

         Proposed application for admission to the Official List of the
        UK Listing Authority and to trading on the London Stock Exchange

It was announced on 15 July 2003 that Northumbrian Water Group plc
("Northumbrian Water" or "Company") is applying for admission to the Official
List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the London Stock Exchange's
market for listed securities.

Pursuant to rule 39 of the Alternative Investment Market ("AIM") Rules for
Companies, Northumbrian Water hereby gives twenty business days notice prior to
the intended cancellation of trading of the Company's issued share capital on
AIM.

It is expected that the Company's shares will be simultaneously cancelled on AIM
and admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on
the London Stock Exchange's market for listed securities before the end of
September 2003.
