Appointment of Swedish Distributor
NMT Group PLC ('NMT') is pleased to announce that it has appointed Medcore AB
('Medcore'), the Stockholm-based medical devices distributor, as distributor
for the Group's range of safety syringes in Sweden.
Medcore has significant experience in the medical devices field and will
represent NMT in both the Swedish hospital and community care markets.
In addition, NMT has made representations to the Swedish authorities for the
1ml insulin syringe to be added to the list of products that are reimbursed in
Sweden. This will allow the insulin-using diabetic population in Sweden to
obtain the syringe from pharmacies free of charge.
Commenting on today's announcement, Roy Smith, Chief Executive of NMT, said:
'We are pleased to appoint Medcore as NMT's distributor in Sweden. If it is
confirmed by the Swedish authorities that the safety syringe is reimbursable,
we anticipate increased demand for our products in Sweden. Medcore has the
necessary links with the pharmacy chain to ensure that NMT's safety syringe
will be available to meet this increased demand.'
