Trading Update

NETCALL PLC 19 August 1999 NETCALL PLC TRADING UPDATE The Directors of NetCall plc announce that major advances have been achieved in extending the range of HyperPhone LinkT applications that our principal operating subsidiary, NetCall Telecom Limited is able to deliver. As a result and since the year-end, a significant increase in the level of sales activity has been experienced. In particular it has been the ability to utilise NetCall's telephony infrastructure to host and run offline, as well as traditional on-line services, that has made the impact. Examples of the areas where NetCall has enjoyed recent success utilising these new applications include:- NetCall Benelux NetCall has, through its joint venture company with Desc NV, NetCall Benelux, developed NetCall Asset Minder which enables customers to track, record and certify the delivery and maintenance of valuable items of equipment, such as computers, using automated and interactive voice response telephony running on NetCall's existing infrastructure. Asset Minder is activated either through the Internet or by an international toll free number. The first installation of this service will shortly be going live and is expected to generate revenues in excess of $300,000 in its first year of operation for NetCall Benelux. Agreement with Personal Number Company plc On 6 July 1999, NetCall announced that it had signed an agreement with Personal Number Company plc ('PNC')to provide NetCall's Alerts technology, which will deliver and support PNC's recently launched service e-callTM. E- callTM is the UK's first proactive text-to-speech delivery service, specifically developed to work in conjunction with mobile phones, which alert mobile users that 'they have mail' and allows them the option of listening to a message or having it forwarded to any nominated fax machine. NetCall has designed, developed and is now supplying the engine and the infrastructure on which this innovative service runs. NetCall expects to receive revenues from subscription fees and telephony from supplying this service to PNC in the UK and additional income from further customers marketing similar services in other territories including North America. AddCall 800 AddCall 800 enables respondents to advertisements in newspapers to receive a free telephone call connecting them directly to the advertiser by merely dialling a free phone number and on prompt entering the reference number relating to the item advertised. Early trials have shown this innovative system, which also delivers many other valuable benefits to the advertiser, to be extremely effective in eliciting responses and have generated over 1000 telephone calls per week in a single product category advertised only in one local region. NetCall expects to see this service widely utilised by advertisers in many locations covering a whole host of products and services. Trading in the year to 30 June 1999 has been in line with market expectations and it is anticipated that the preliminary results will be issued in October. David Rothschild, Chief Executive of NetCall plc, commented: 'NetCall's success in delivering these and other innovative, relevant and robust services has enabled it to move to the next stage of its planned expansion with increased emphasis now being placed on sales and marketing in both the UK and the USA.'
