Results of an EGM
New Star Investment Trust PLC

At an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held today, the Resolution
requiring the Directors to put forward proposals for winding-up the Company
was defeated.

The results of a poll taken at the Extraordinary General Meeting were as
follows:


                                           No. of Votes              Percentage
Votes For:                                   42,715,081                  40.44%
Votes Against:                               62,909,849                  59.56%

All the Directors, including the independent Directors, and the
representatives of Jupiter Asset Management Limited, voted against the
Resolution.
