AGM Statement
Newmark Security plc (AIM:NWT), a leading provider of electronic and physical security systems, will hold its Annual General Meeting ('AGM') at 11:00 a.m. today at the Group's offices at 57 Grosvenor Street, London W1K 3JA. At the AGM the Chairman of Newmark Security, Maurice Dwek, will make the following statement:
'Sales in the electronic division for the first four months were nearly 9 per cent ahead of the same period last year, which was largely due to a substantial recovery of sales in Grosvenor Technology's OEM division. In addition the Board remains optimistic that a number of significant new contracts will be gained which would have a beneficial impact on the second half year.
'Sales in the asset protection division for the first four months are in line with last year. As previously announced, this division has gained a substantial order from a customer in the financial sector which will benefit the remainder of the year.
'Sales for the first four months overall were 5 per cent ahead of last year and the Board still expects the operating profits for this financial year to be satisfactory.'
