Amendment to the Interim Unaudited Consolidated Balance Sheet
The unaudited consolidated balance sheet at July 2007 included in Next's RNS
announcement on 11 September 2007 has been amended. In order to show a
consistent presentation with the Group's July 2006 balance sheet, liabilities
totalling £93.4 million in respect of share buybacks to be made under its
irrevocable close season arrangement and its contingent purchase contracts have
been transferred from trade and other payables to other financial liabilities
due within one year. There is no change in shareholders' total equity as a
result of this amended presentation. The revised balance sheet is as follows:
