Capital Markets Event
eSmart Networks: Leading in the high growth energy transition market
Nexus (AIM:NEXS), a leading provider of essential infrastructure services, utilities connections and smart energy infrastructure, is today holding a virtual Capital Markets Event for sell-side analysts and investors. The event will be hosted by CEO Mike Morris alongside Simon Gallagher, MD eSmart Networks. The presentation will provide an insight into the Group's smart energy business, eSmart Networks, its grid expertise and position within the UK's high growth electrification markets.
Formed in 2018, eSmart Networks was one of the first infrastructure grid focused companies to be established at scale, offering essential infrastructure connectivity to both energy generators and energy users. The business is now a leading infrastructure provider for Electric Vehicle ('EV') charging and has a growing presence in industrial electrification and renewable infrastructure.
There is a considerable growth opportunity for eSmart Networks as the UK progresses towards Net Zero and demand for electrification intensifies. The UK's need for EV charging infrastructure is significant, with growing consumer demand and support from the UK Government combined with high demand within the industrial sector for independent connections providers and renewable connections. eSmart Networks is well placed to address this growth market.
eSmart Networks' total addressable market is forecast to be in excess of £9.2 billion by 2030. eSmart Networks is well placed for future growth with a current forward orderbook at £13.5 million (2020: £3.8 million) and visibility over a pipeline of more than £400 million. Revenue growth is substantial and in 2020 the business generated revenue of £2.2 million which is expected to grow to in excess of £10.0m in 2021. The business is also expected to be profitable at the operating level in 2021.
eSmart Networks is highly scalable and well positioned to support the energy transition agenda in the UK. The business has 68 employees across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with operations in Braintree, Stevenage, Bristol, Leicester and Belfast. Two more operational depots are expected to be opened in 2022 to support its pipeline.
The business is led by a highly experienced Management team formed from the Group's successful TriConnex business, which has deep expertise in energy, engineering, sales, operations and leadership.
