THE NORTH AMERICAN Income Trust PLC (the "Company")

ISSUE OF EQUITY

The Company announces that, on 28 October 2013, it issued 90,000 new Ordinary shares of 25p each (the "New Shares") for cash at a price of 863.0 pence per share under its Ordinary share blocklisting facility.  Dealings in the new Ordinary shares are expected to commence on 31 October 2013.

Following this issue of shares, the total number of Ordinary shares in issue is 33,118,582 with each Ordinary share holding one voting right.  Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 33,118,582 and this figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company, under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
