Transaction in Own Shares

EDINBURGH US TRACKER TRUST PLC


On  18  October 2004, Edinburgh US Tracker Trust plc bought back 60,000 ordinary
shares for cancellation at an average price of 470.0 pence per share.  Following
the buy back, there are 85,681,164 ordinary shares in issue.  The share buy-back
will be financed out of the capital reserve.
