UPDATE ON PORTFOLIO

The North American Income Trust plc ("the Company") announces that, as at the close on 7 June 2012, over 95% of the Company's portfolio was invested in accordance with the Company's new investment objective.

The Company's new investment objective, "to provide investors with above average dividend income and long-term capital growth through investing predominantly in S&P 500 constituents," was approved by Shareholders at the General Meeting of the Company held on 29 May 2012.
