Appointment of Director  

The Board of North Atlantic Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of The Honourable Peregrine Moncreiffe, aged 57, as a director of the Company with effect from 17th November 2008.

Mr Moncreiffe was first appointed as a director of the Company in March 1993 but resigned in March 2006 for personal reasons. The Board is delighted, therefore, to announce his re-appointment.

Mr Moncreiffe has previously worked in London, New York and the Far East, with Credit Suisse First Boston, Lehman Brothers and Buchanan Partners.

During the last five years, Mr Moncreiffe has been a director of UA Group Plc and Moncreiffe & Co. Plc.

The Board can confirm that there is no further relevant information required to be disclosed pursuant to the Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
