                    - Notification of Director's dealing -


The Company has today been informed that David Phillips, Executive Chairman,
as trustee of the D M Phillips 1991 Settlement yesterday acquired 20,000
Northamber shares at a price of 71p per share. As a result, Mr Phillips is now
non-beneficially interested in 65,240 ordinary shares, being 0.20 per cent. of
the Company's issued ordinary share capital.


Mr Phillips remains beneficially interested in 17,280,442 ordinary shares,
being 52.73 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
