The Board of Northamber plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael
John Ayrton, age 57, as non-executive director with effect from 11 July 2002.

In accordance with paragraph 16.4 of the UK Listing Authority Listing Rules the
Board announces that Mr Ayrton has no current directorships, nor has he held any
previous directorships over the five years preceding the date of his
appointment.
