Orad Hi-Tec Systems
11 April 2006
Orad Hi-Tec Systems Limited ('Orad' or the 'Company')
Orad Hi-Tec Systems Limited (Symbol: OHT) has today announced a second agreement
with China's national broadcaster, China Central Television ('CCTV'), worth
several hundred thousand US dollars. This agreement will allow CCTV's
International news channels to implement Orad's Maestro On Air Graphics
solution.
The systems will be installed in CCTV's main broadcasting centre in Beijing and
will be fully integrated with the Sobey newsroom and automation system. Multiple
3Designer Advance authoring software will be used for generating real time 3D
graphics templates and animations. Using the Maestro Controller the graphic
templates will become available to CCTV's journalists allowing them the ability
to work collaboratively thereby sharing their stories across several studios.
All of Orad's systems are powered by the world's most powerful Dual Rendered
Video Graphics platform, the DVG. By implementing this system, CCTV
International will be the first user of Orad's new streaming technology.
CCTV International comprises 3 channels: CCTV-9 (the 24-hour English language
channel); CCTV-E&F (overseas channel targeted at Spanish speaking and French
speaking audiences); and CCTV-4 (overseas Chinese Language channel). CCTV
International reaches more than 80 percent of the total population of China,
with regular viewership of over 500 million, which is the largest in the world.
Avi Sharir, President and CEO of Orad, commented: 'It is an honor to be
associated with CCTV. China is the fastest growing economy in the world and CCTV
is the main information source for this region. This agreement coupled with
Orad's earlier agreement for the Shanghai Media Group News Centre and more than
15 other Regional News Broadcasters solidifies Orad's position as the preferred
News Graphics solution in the Chinese market' concluded Mr. Sharir.
