Sky Sports has recently upgraded its systems to make use of ORAD's new real time sport enhancement CyberSport system. ORAD Hi-Tec Systems has a long standing relationship with Sky Sports having worked closely with Sky Sports over a number of years in providing the graphics hardware and software for key events such as the Premiership and Champions League football as well as rugby. Sky has successfully been using three CyberSport systems for over five years for the production of all their on-air graphics. ORAD United Kingdom has recently upgraded Sky Sports' existing three CyberSport systems to the latest version, CyberSport 4. CyberSport 4 is the most advanced on-air graphics solution for the sports broadcast market and is based around ORAD's DVG10 3-D rendering engine. The DVG has the smallest footprint of any competing hardware and can be installed in any OB that is available. This upgrade is seen as a way to enhance the viewing experience by increasing the amount of information given with the on-air graphics. A major enhancement is the ease with which virtual advertising can be inserted into a programme and altered in real time. As a result sponsors can guarantee when their advertisement is going to appear and change it at the last minute if required. The speed of work flow is also significantly improved with the use of Cybergraphic Maker, the key to CyberSport 4. Phil Madge, Graphics Production Supervisor of Sky Sports, stated: ' Sky Sports are very pleased with the upgrade and the stability of the new system. Our operators have now all been trained by ORAD and are becoming more efficient using the new system. We are looking forward to pushing the boundaries of on-air graphic generation in the future'. Current and future enhancements of the system are being undertaken as a result of this partnership. Avi Sharir, CEO of ORAD, stated: 'All of our customers are very important to us with regard to product development as they are the ones using our technology. It is vital that we continue to develop these relationships so we can provide the market with what it needs'. About ORAD Founded in 1993, ORAD is a world leader in TV production technology and rapidly increasing it's position in the Visual Simulation ('Vissim') industry. ORAD's line of products include virtual sets, on-air graphics systems, virtual advertising, sports production solutions and hardware for the Vissim industry.
