Purchase of own securities

Octopus AIM VCT plc announces that on 20 January 2010 the Company purchased
252,961 Ordinary shares at a price of 73.5p per share.  The Ordinary shares
purchased represent 0.9% of the total number of voting rights in the Company
before the transaction.

These shares will be held in Treasury.

Following this transaction, the issued share capital of the Company is now
31,930,030 Ordinary shares. The Company now holds 2,908,629 Ordinary shares in
Treasury.
