Ms Gray said:
"I am very pleased to be joining Old Mutual at a most interesting stage of the Group's strategic development."
Old Mutual confirms that there are no matters relating to Ms Gray that would require disclosure under Listing Rules 9.6.13 (1) to (6). She does not currently have any beneficial interests in shares in Old Mutual or in its separately listed subsidiary, Nedbank Group Limited.
The Company has also been informed by Eva Castillo that she wishes to resign from the Board as a non-executive director with effect from 28 February 2013 because of the burden of her other commitments, in particular those associated with her role as Chairwoman and CEO of Telefónica Europe, a position that she took on during the second half of 2012.
Patrick O'Sullivan, Chairman of the Company, said:
"We are very sorry that Eva is leaving our Board. We have greatly valued her contribution to our meetings since she joined us in February 2011."
