Old Mutual appoints new finance director
Old Mutual plc ('Old Mutual' or the 'Company') is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Broadley as Group Finance Director. He will succeed Jonathan Nicholls, who is leaving the company in order to pursue interests outside the life insurance sector.
Philip was previously Group Finance Director of Prudential plc from 2000 until March 2008. Prior to joining Prudential, he was a Partner at Arthur Andersen, the top-five global accountancy firm, from 1993 to 2000. He has also been Chairman of the 100 Group of Finance Directors for two years, was a founding member and trustee of the CFO Forum of European Insurance Company Finance Directors and was also a member of the IASB's Insurance Working Group.
Philip Broadley, who joins the Company on 10 November, will be appointed to the Old Mutual Board as an Executive Director at that time. He will also join the Group Executive Committee.
Julian Roberts, Group Chief Executive, said:
'I am delighted to have made such a high-calibre appointment in Philip Broadley. Philip's extensive experience and long-standing tenure as Finance Director of one of the largest multinationals in our industry will be a tremendous asset to the Group and we very much look forward to working with him.
'We thank Jonathan for the significant contribution he has made over the last two years and for initiating a number of positive changes to the Group finance function. While we are sad to see him leave, we respect his decision to seek new challenges outside the sector.'
