Old Mutual PLC 10 April 2000 OLD MUTUAL PLC Final Dividend for the year ended 31 December 1999 Currency Conversion In their announcement on 8 March 2000 of the preliminary results of Old Mutual for the year ended 31 December 1999, the directors stated that they would be recommending a final dividend of 2p per share. The record date for this dividend payment is 7 April 2000 for shareholders on the South Africa, Malawi and Zimbabwe branch registers and the Namibian section of the UK register. The record date for shareholders on the principal UK register is 14 April 2000. The ex-dividend date is today, 10 April 2000, on all exchanges on which the company's shares are listed. The local currency equivalents of the proposed dividend have now been established, using the exchange rates prevailing on 7 April 2000, as reported on 10 April 2000 by the Financial Times. These dividends are as follows: South Africa 20.77 South African cents per share Malawi 1.4947 MK per share Namibia 20.77 Namibian cents per share Zimbabwe 1.21 Zimbabwean dollars per share The dividend is subject to shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting of Old Mutual plc, which is to be held in London on 18 May 2000.
