               Mr Laubscher ceases to be a Director of the Company


Mr Richard Laubscher has ceased to be an executive Director of Old Mutual plc
today upon stepping down as Chief Executive of Nedcor Limited.  He had been a
Director of the Company since January 2001. He has also resigned his
directorship of Old Mutual Life Assurance Company of South Africa.
