                  Nedcor (NED.J) and Dimension Data (DDL.L)

Old Mutual plc (OML.L) draws shareholders' attention to the following
statement issued today to the JSE Securities Exchange, South Africa by Nedcor
Ltd, the South African banking group, in which Old Mutual plc has a 53.4%
holding:

'Further to the cautionary announcement of 22 June 2001, shareholders are
advised that, given the recent volatility in the share price of Dimension Data
Holdings Plc ('Dimension Data'), Nedcor has determined that it would be
advisable to retain maximum flexibility in relation to its shareholding in
Dimension Data. Any course of action relating to the investment in Dimension
Data embarked on in the future will be with due regard to the interest of
Nedcor shareholders and the value of the investment in Dimension Data.
Accordingly, shareholders are no longer advised to exercise caution when
dealing in their Nedcor shares.'
