           Results for the six months to 30 June 2000


Nedcor  Limited, the South African banking group,  in  which  Old
Mutual  plc ('Old Mutual') has a 53.3% holding, has today  issued
financial  results for the six months to 30 June 2000.  The  full

The key highlights of Nedcor's announcement are:

*    Attributable income up 27% to R1,230 million

*    EPS up 25% to 517 cents

*    DPS up 25% to 160 cents

*    Return on average shareholders' funds increased to 24%
