Old Mutual plc (the 'Company') announces that it has today received a notice
dated 8 June 2006 informing the Company that Franklin Resources, Inc. and its
affiliates had at that date a notifiable interest, for the purposes of Part VI
of the UK Companies Act 1985, in 3.03% of the Company's ordinary share capital,
represented by an aggregate holding of 166,208,470 shares.
