Voting rights and capital
Pursuant to transitional provision 6 of the Transparency Directive, Old Mutual
plc (the Company) notifies the market of the following information relating to
voting rights in its issued ordinary share capital.
The Company's issued ordinary share capital currently comprises 5,500,895,508
ordinary shares of 10p each.
African life subsidiaries of the Company hold a total of 291,082,755 ordinary
shares in the Company in their policyholders' funds. These shares cannot be
voted while they are held by subsidiaries of Old Mutual plc because of
applicable provisions of UK company law. Therefore the total number of voting
rights in the Company's ordinary share capital is 5,209,812,753. This figure may
be used by shareholders as the denominator for calculations to determine whether
they are required to notify their interest, or a change in their interest, in
the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
