'Go-live Programme' to Commence

On-Line PLC 25 November 1999 ON-LINE PLC ADVFN, pioneering Internet community of private investors from On-line PLC begins its Go-live Programme on December 2nd 1999. Created in June and in closed Beta testing, the Advanced Financial Network (ADVFN) began at the direct request of a group of internet users who were looking for a new kind of investment community - one that put them in charge. ADVFN has done just that. ADVFN provides a real, useful and relevant environment to aid its users investment decisions. ADVFN is evolving constantly with more new features being added. The site, which offers both a public and a subscriber section, currently has two easy-to-use yet powerful Bulletin Board facilities, supported by a team of developers and financial journalists. During the test period the ground-breaking ADVFN Index was developed. It was created by a system that has allowed each bulletin board user to nominate one share and second a number of the other nominated shares. The Index went live on 1st September 1999. In a two-month period the nominated portfolio of 20 shares gained 21.8% - equating to 130.8% per annum over a year. In this period the FTSE 100 has fallen by 0.3% and the FTSE All Share also fell by 1.69%. As the Go-live Programme develops, ADVFN will offer: * Comprehensive fundamental data from Hemmington Scott * Real time share price information * Real time individual trade reports * Market maker lists * Stock monitor pages * Get Quote fast quote page * RNS News The latest additions to the service also include a referrer facility to www.21store.com offering ADVFN users and subscribers direct purchase offers on Psion and other leading electronic products and a financial bookshop provided by British financial book specialists, Global Investor Bookshops. As a web-based product and one created in direct response to calls from the market place, ADVFN will grow and develop according to the needs of its users.
