Optare receives order from Transdev

Optare plc (the 'Company') is pleased to announce that it has received an order from London United, an operating subsidiary of Transdev plc ('Transdev').

Valued at £2.3 million, the order is for the supply of 19 midi buses. The Directors believe this to be the first order for fully integral, twin door midi buses from a Transport for London ('TfL') operator. The buses are to be delivered in the last quarter of 2008.

Chief Executive of Optare, Andrew Brian, said: 'We are delighted to be working again in partnership with Transdev to supply fully TfL-compliant buses into the capital. This contract is a further endorsement of the strength of the Optare brand in our core markets, and of our ability to deliver industry-leading buses.'
