Appointment of Rose Hynes as Chairman and Directorate Changes

The Board of Origin Enterprises plc ('Origin' or 'the Group') today announces the appointment of Ms. Rose Hynes as Non-Executive Chairman effective immediately.

Origin also announces today the retirement of Mr. Owen Killian and Mr. Patrick McEniff from the Board as Non-Executive Chairman and Non-Executive Director respectively. Owen and Patrick have served on the Board since the establishment of Origin in October 2006 and the Group's subsequent admission to the ESM and AIM markets of the Irish and London Stock Exchanges in June 2007.

Rose Hynes was appointed to the Board on 1 October 2015. Rose is the Senior Independent Director of Total Produce plc, One Fifty One plc and Mincon plc. She is also Chairman of Shannon Group plc. Previously Rose was Chairman of Ervia and Non-Executive Director of Aer Lingus, Fyffes and Bank of Ireland. In addition, she held a number of senior executive positions with GPA Group plc in the period 1988-2002 including General Counsel and Head of the Commercial Department. A law graduate of University College Dublin and a lawyer, Rose is an Associate of the Irish Institute of Taxation and of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
