                  Ovoca announces New Chief Executive Officer


Ovoca Gold Plc (AIM: OVG; IEX: OVX) is pleased to announce the Appointment of Mr
                  Leonid Skoptsov as Chief Executive Officer.


Ovoca Gold plc, the Russian focused precious metals developer announces the
appointment of Mr. Leonid Pavlovich Skoptsov (aged 52) as Chief Executive
Officer, in line with the company's goal to intensify it focus on developing
core assets in Russia. Mr. Skoptsov, who is currently a non-executive director
of the company, takes over from Dr. Barrie Oakes with immediate effect.  Dr.
Oakes remains on the Board as a non-executive director.  In thanking Barrie
Oakes for his contribution to the growth of Ovoca Gold, the Chairman, Roger
Turner, said 'Barrie has guided Ovoca Gold through its formative years, helping
to identify the company's projects in Russia and laying the foundations for the
company as we see it today. We thank him for his strenuous efforts, expertise
and commitment and wish him success for the future'.


Mr. Turner went on to say 'The appointment of Leonid Skoptsov as Chief Executive
Officer strengthens the Russian management team as we move ahead with the
development of the Goltsovoye deposit in Magadan.  Leonid's track record as
Chairman of JSC Pervaya Gornorudnaya Company, which discovered the Pavlovskoe
lead/zinc/silver deposit in 2002 and his directorship of the Magadan Geological
Expedition, adds further depth to our senior management and we are delighted
that he has agreed to assume this leadership role'.
