                Ovoca management team boosted by appointment of
                     Simon Beardsmore as Commercial Manager


Ovoca Gold Plc (AIM: OVG; IEX: OVX) announced today the appointment of Mr Simon
Beardsmore as Commercial Manager.  Simon, 55, is a graduate of the Royal School
of Mines at Imperial College, London and a UK Chartered Engineer with over 30
years experience in the operational, technical and financial aspects of mining
industry internationally. He has also undertaken post-graduate work on
geo-statistics at the University of Leeds and corporate finance at the London
Business School. After an early career in operational management and technical
consulting, Simon joined the Head Office of Consolidated Gold Fields plc where
he served in both the Technical and Mining Investment Divisions until the
company was taken over in 1989.  Over the last fifteen years, Simon has worked
for a number of brokers and investment banks in the City, including T Hoare &
Co, Evolution Beeson Gregory and Numis Securities, as a mining analyst
specialising in small and mid-cap mining companies and as associate director of
the specialist mining boutique, WCS Limited.

Simon will take the position of Commercial Manager at Ovoca Gold with immediate
effect. His role will focus on assisting the Chairman and CEO as Ovoca makes the
transition from a junior explorer to a developer and producer.
