Oxford Instruments strengthens Group Board
Oxford Instruments plc ("Oxford Instruments"), the high technology tool and
systems business, today announces the appointment of Charles Holroyd and Steven
Parker to the Group Board with immediate effect.
Charles Holroyd, in addition to his continuing responsibilities for the Group's
NanoAnalysis and Industrial Analysis businesses, has been appointed Group
Operations Director. He will have responsibility for optimising the
effectiveness of the various Group sites around the world and for fully
deploying manufacturing and supply chain capabilities to meet the needs of the
Group's customer facing businesses. Charles joined Oxford Instruments in
November 1999.
Steven Parker, in addition to his continuing responsibilities for the Group's US
Superconductivity businesses, takes on the additional role of Group Commercial
Director. This will involve group wide responsibility for interacting with Group
customers at the most senior level. Steven joined Oxford Instruments in July
2002.
Nigel Keen, Chairman of Oxford Instruments, commented: "These two appointments
form an important part of a new organisational structure for Oxford Instruments,
with the aim of reinforcing central strategic decision making and major new
product development across the Group. I am delighted to welcome Charles and
Steven to the main Board. In their expanded roles, they will play an important
part in harnessing the capabilities that exist across the Group."
Charles Holroyd is also a Director of Dunbar Underwriting Limited. Steven Parker
is also Chairman of the Coalition for the Commercial Application of
Superconductors. There are no further details to be disclosed under paragraph
2.F.2(b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.
Oxford Instruments has announced separately today its results for the six months
to 30 September 2005.
