Contract Wins
Yotta DCL signs its largest ever contract worth £4m to £5m over 4 years and Vicon USA closes its largest deal of the year
OMG plc, Oxford Metrics Group (LSE: OMG), the technology group providing image understanding products for the entertainment, defence, life science and engineering industries, is pleased to announce that Yotta DCL, its UK Highways Surveying business, and Vicon USA have both won significant new contracts.
The Welsh Assembly Government awarded the contract after an open competitive process to Yotta DCL, a leading provider of highways condition and asset surveys in the UK, to undertake condition surveys across the total road network in Wales. The contract covers a range of survey types including SCANNER, skid resistance, Deflectograph, CVI and DVI, with an expectation of 15,000km of SCANNER each year. The contract covers all road classes from local roads in all 22 Local Authorities to the trunk road network managed by the Welsh Assembly Government. The data will be used to help Local Authorities plan maintenance more effectively as well as report at a national level the condition of their road networks.
The contract will run for four years and is expected to be worth £4m to £5m over this period.
In addition, OMG is pleased to announce that Vicon USA has won a deal worth $0.5m to supply a Vicon T160 motion capture camera system.
Announcing the contracts, Nick Bolton, Chief Executive Officer of OMG plc, said:
"The Welsh Assembly Government deal is a fantastic achievement and is the largest contract ever won by an OMG subsidiary. The contract vindicates our investment in Yotta DCL which has improved the Group's revenue visibility and predictability. Surveying will commence in earnest from January 2010 and will help to further underpin our revenue expectations for Yotta DCL in the current financial year.
"Despite the fact that the USA has been a tough market of late, we are delighted to announce that Vicon USA have just closed their largest deal so far this financial year."
