Vicon Launches New T-Series Product
New T-Series "S" Edition Enhances Speed of Capture
OMG plc, (LSE: OMG) ("OMG" or the "Group"), the technology group providing image understanding products for the entertainment, defence, life science and engineering industries, is pleased to announce today the launch of Vicon's new T-Series "S" Edition motion capture ("mocap") camera range: the T40S, T20S and the T10S. The new "S" Edition range builds on the speed and flexibility of the existing T-Series family of cameras, now boasting the world's fastest full frame 1 megapixel mocap camera.
In a further development, each of the new T-Series cameras are now fully optimized for outdoor mocap. This new capability allows users to create highly accurate mocap outdoors without interference from natural elements and lighting. Customers with an existing T-Series system will also be able to upgrade their existing systems for outdoor capture, as well as have the option to customise their new T-Series camera with optimized lens and strobe combinations to maximize capture volumes.
Mocap systems provide high-precision data to customers in a wide range of applications. First used in the life science industry, users now span the film, game development, entertainment, defense, medicine, sport, engineering and broadcast industries amongst others.
Commenting on the launch Nick Bolton, OMG Chief Executive Officer said:
"We are very excited to announce the launch of the new T-Series "S" Edition and with up to four times the resolution of any mocap camera available, the Vicon T-Series continues to offer a mocap experience like no other. The product offers unparalleled accuracy and the new advancements in technology to achieve meticulous outdoor mocap will be welcomed by the industry."
