First Quarter Trading Update
Michael Page International plc, the professional recruitment consultancy,
reports first quarter 2003 revenue of £42.8m, 14% lower than the £49.5m in first
quarter of 2002 and 3% lower than the £43.9m in the fourth quarter of 2002. In
its preliminary 2002 results statement on 26 February 2003, the Company stated
that activity levels had slowed in the fourth quarter of 2002 and that the
weakening had continued into the first quarter of 2003.
Commenting, Terry Benson, Chief Executive of Michael Page, said:
"Our revenues for the first quarter are in line with the guidance given in
February. Market conditions remain difficult and we continue to be cautious
about the short term outlook."
