AGM Statement

At the annual general meeting of The Paragon Group of Companies PLC today, the
Executive Chairman, Jonathan Perry, will say:

'Since the year end, trading activity has remained firm, with lending volumes
well ahead of the levels advanced in the corresponding period last year. First
mortgages have continued to be particularly strong, both in terms of completions
and in terms of the volume of business currently in the pipeline.

We remain confident of achieving the objectives that we have set for this year
and look forward to updating shareholders fully on progress at the half year.'
