                     APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Directors of The Paragon Group of Companies PLC are pleased to announce the
appointment of Edward (Ted) Tilly to the Board as a non-executive director. Mr
Tilly's appointment will be effective from 1 April 2008.

Between 1999 and 2003 Mr Tilly was Chairman of Barclays Life Assurance Limited.
Previously Mr Tilly was Chief Executive and, subsequently, Chairman of
Consolidated Financial Insurance, part of GE Capital. Prior to this he spent 30
years with Legal & General Group plc.
