Board Appointments


The Board of Standard Life European Private Equity Trust PLC is pleased to
announce the appointments of Clive Sherling and Donald Workman as independent
non-executive Directors of the Company, with effect from 1 December 2006.

Mr Sherling (57) spent 17 years at Arthur Andersen, the last five years as a
partner.  He joined Apax Partners in 1987 and was for the last ten years, until
he retired at the end of 2004, the Group Chief Operating Officer.  He is a
former Chairman of the British Venture Capital Association and the Football
Licensing Authority and former Vice-Chairman of the Sports Aid Foundation.  He
is currently a non-executive director of Blacks Leisure Group plc and
Vice-Chairman of Wembley National Stadium Limited.

Mr Workman (54) is an investment director within the Corporate Markets division
of The Royal Bank of Scotland plc.   Since joining RBS in 1992 his
responsibilities have included strategic planning and implementation and head of
change management.  He currently manages a portfolio of RBS unquoted investments
and is also responsible for the relationship between RBS Corporate Markets and
the Bank of China.   He is a non-executive director of Southern Water Services,
Star Capital Partners, Health Club Investments Group and Scottish Financial
Enterprise.

Both Mr Sherling and Mr Workman currently have no beneficial interests in the
shares of the Company.

In respect of Listing Rule 9.6.13, the Company notifies that, in 1984, Mr
Sherling was admonished by the ICAEW for accepting an appointment (at the
request of the creditors), as liquidator of Bremar Holdings Limited whilst a
partner of Arthur Andersen, which was also Bremar Holding Limited's auditor.
Admonition is the lowest level of guilty finding and, notwithstanding the
admonition, the ICAEW agreed that Mr Sherling should continue to act as
liquidator of Bremar.

No other information is required to be disclosed in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13
(1) to (6) of the Financial Services Authority Listing Rules.
