COUNTYWeb.com PLC, the UK's leading interactive business directory network, is
today admitted to the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), having raised £5.6
million by way of an offer for subscription earlier this year. Brewin Dolphin
Securities Limited is both the nominated adviser and broker to the Company.
COUNTYWeb currently has 56 interlinked sites with a county focus and six
websites covering various regions, as well as Scotland and Wales. The Company
provides free listings of basic contact information to businesses within their
local directory and sells enhanced listings on a local, regional or national
basis. The Company also provides clients with bespoke web presence services.
These services include domain name registration, website design, hosting,
email services, e-commerce and online promotion. The COUNTYWeb network allows
users to source business telephone numbers and addresses anywhere in the
country within seconds.
Today, COUNTYWeb reports an increase of 65% in page impressions in the six
months to 31 August 2000 and announces the launch of its WAP enabled
directory. One of few comprehensive WAP directory services in the United
Kingdom, COUNTYWeb's 'WAP.UK.927.co.uk' gives mobile telephone users access to
over 4.5 million businesses. COUNTYWeb's own two thousand plus business
listings are expected to benefit significantly from this extra connectivity.
William Catchpole, Managing Director of COUNTYWeb.com, said: 'The move to the
Alternative Investment Market provides the Company with additional share
liquidity and will allow for greater visibility in both commercial and
investment terms.
'COUNTYWeb's growth continues and will benefit shortly from the significant
marketing campaign involving GWR's extensive consumer penetration. In
addition, COUNTYWeb's proven regionalised consumer offering will extend
shortly into Europe under the euzone.com brand.'
