Transaction in Own Shares

Pearson plc (the Company) announces today it has purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of 25 pence each on the London Stock Exchange from Citigroup Global Markets Limited.

Aggregate number of ordinary shares of 25 pence each purchased:                               290,637

Lowest price paid per share:                                                                                             997.80p

Highest price paid per share:                                                                                         1,011.00p

Average price paid per share:                                                                                        1,005.72p

The Company will cancel the purchased shares.

These purchases are the last purchases to be made under the programme between the Company, on the one hand, and Citigroup Global Markets Limited, on the other hand, announced on 20 September 2023, as that programme has been completed in accordance with its terms.

As announced on 1 March 2024, the Company has issued a non-discretionary irrevocable instruction to Citigroup Global Markets Limited to execute a £200m share buyback programme on the terms described in that announcement. This share buyback programme will commence on the business day following the date of the final purchases set out in this announcement.
