Cheltenham, Gloucestershire - 10th April 2002:
Pennant Secures Orders for Two Helicopter Training Systems
Pennant Training Systems Limited (Pennant) is pleased to announce that it has
received orders from Westland Helicopters Limited to supply a Lynx Mechanical &
Weapons Trainer (LMWT) and an Avionics & Electrical Systems Emulator (AESE) for
a contracted new buy of 'Lynx 300' helicopters. These orders have a combined
value in excess of £2.5 million and are due for delivery and final acceptance in
the first quarter of 2004.
'We are delighted to be awarded these two contracts. They build on Pennant's
extensive training systems expertise and specialist Lynx helicopter experience,'
remarked Joe Thompson, Chief Executive of Pennant International Group, 'and,
furthermore, they significantly enhance the company's working relationship with
Westland Helicopters.'
The LMWT will be a full scale airframe, suitably fitted and with underlying
systems simulation software to enable mechanical and weapons maintenance
training activities to be carried out by students under controlled conditions.
The AESE will be a PC-based desktop training system presenting a virtual
helicopter with a graphical interface and systems simulation software delivering
functionality for the avionics and electrical systems together with associated
virtual test equipment. Both the LMWT and AESE are adaptations of technology
developed on other defence aerospace simulation and training systems programmes.
Pennant Training Systems Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pennant
International Group plc, based in Cheltenham, England and listed on the
Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange.
