BOARD APPOINTMENT

The Board of Pennon Group is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Martin Angle as a Non-executive Director with effect from 1 December 2008. He will be a member of the Board's Audit, Corporate Responsibility and Nomination Committees and Chairman of its Remuneration Committee.

Martin has held senior executive roles in investment banking, industry and private equity. He currently holds non-executive directorships with Savills plc; JSC Severstal, one of the world's largest steel companies; Dubai International Capital llc; and The National Exhibition Centre where he is chairman. Until July 2008, he was also chairman of Celerant Consulting, an international operational management consultancy. In addition, he sits on the Board of the Warwick Business School.

As an executive, he most recently held senior positions with Terra Firma Capital Partners and various of its portfolio companies, including the executive chairmanship of Waste Recycling Group Limited. Before that he was the Group Finance Director of TI Group plc, a specialised engineering company in the FTSE 100 with activities in over 50 countries. Prior to that, he held a number of senior positions, over a twenty year investment banking career, with SG Warburg & Co Ltd; Morgan Stanley, where he was Head of UK M & A; and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson.

In respect of UKLA Listing Rule 9.6.13 relating to further information concerning the appointment of a new director it should be noted that Martin Angle is currently a director of Savills plc and JSC Severstal, both publically quoted companies. There is no other information required to be disclosed concerning Martin Angle pursuant to Rule 9.6.13.

Martin replaces Ms Kate Mortimer who sadly passed away in July after a short illness.
