Robert Elliott formally joins Board as Chairman following retirement of Alan Cook at the end of his six year term of office.
Appointment of new Company Secretary confirmed
Friday 31 March 2017. As previously announced on the 7 March 2017, Mr. Robert Elliott has today formally taken up the position of Chairman of Permanent TSB Group Holdings plc following the retirement of Mr. Alan Cook at the conclusion of his six-year term of office. Mr. Elliott recently retired as Chairman and Senior Partner of leading international law firm Linklaters LLP.
The Board has also announced that Mr. Conor Ryan has been appointed as Group Company Secretary designate. Mr. Ryan will take up the position formally on the retirement of Mr. Ciaran Long following the AGM in May.
Conor (45) joined the Bank in 1989 and has held the position of Deputy Company Secretary for the past five years. Conor is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and was President of the Institute in Ireland from 2014 to 2016. In qualifying as a Chartered Secretary, he was the first Irish winner of the Livery Prize for having achieved the best overall exam performance in his qualifying year. In December 2015, Conor was named ICSA Deputy Company Secretary of the Year.
Ciaran Long has been Company Secretary of the Group for 13 years. Ciaran worked originally for Irish Life where he led the Corporate Business Division before becoming Company Secretary of, what was then, Irish Life & Permanent plc. Ciaran was Company Secretary through the financial crisis and, in that role, played a key part in the management of the Group through its State recapitalisation, de-leveraging and restructuring projects that have led to the creation of today's Permanent TSB Group.
End.
