Persimmon plc ('the Company') announces that on 20 December 2007 it was advised
that on the same day, John White, Group Chairman, purchased 1,855 ordinary
shares in the Company at 778p per share through his Self Invested Personal
Pension.

Mr and Mrs White's resultant holding is 2,060,227 shares, representing 0.69% of
the issued share capital of the Company.

The issued share capital of the Company on 20 December 2007 is 300,147,313
ordinary shares with voting rights (excluding 2,444,118 ordinary shares held in
treasury).
