Directors' Shareholding

Persimmon plc (the 'Company') announces that on 31 March 2009 it was informed that on 30 March 2009 John White, Group Chairman transferred 93,000 ordinary shares in the Company to a family trust for nil consideration. As a result of this transaction Mr White and his wife  remain  beneficially interested in 1,981,922 shares or 0.7% of the issued share capital of the Company  (excluding Treasury Shares) and also have a non-beneficial interest of 93,000 ordinary shares.

The issued share capital of the Company on 31 March 2009 (excluding shares held in Treasury) was 300,187,875 ordinary shares.
