Persimmon plc ('the Company') announces that on 22 March 2006 Mike Farley,
director exercised a share option granted to him under the Company's 1988
Executive Share Option scheme. Details are set out below:

Mike Farley is retaining these shares and as a result is beneficially interested
in 830,620 ordinary shares of the Company representing 0.28% of the issued share
