Directors' Shareholdings

Persimmon plc ('the Company') was today advised that Davina Millar, wife of John
Millar, executive director, on Friday 5 April 2002 sold 10,000 ordinary shares
at £4.431/4 and therefore is no longer beneficially or non-beneficially
interested in such shares. Following this transaction Mr Millar and his wife are
interested in 327,284 ordinary shares of the Company.'
