'Directors' Shareholdings

Persimmon plc was advised on Friday 7 December 2001 that Geoff Grewer,
executive director, on Thursday 6 December 2001 transferred for nil
consideration 1,000 ordinary shares to his wife, Mrs Susan Grewer. He also
transferred for nil consideration 395 ordinary shares to each of his three
sons who are all over the age of 18 and therefore he is no longer beneficially
or non-beneficially interested in these shares. Following these transactions
Mr Grewer has a beneficial interest in 312,909 ordinary shares of the company
(0.11% of the issued share capital).'
