Directors' shareholdings

Persimmon plc ('the Company') announces that the under-noted directors have
exercised share options granted to them under the Company's Executive Share
Option Scheme 1997. Details are set out below:

Excluding LTIP Awards, as a result of the above, Mr J White holds options over
3,474 ordinary shares and Mr M P Farley holds options over 93,330 ordinary
shares.

The Company was advised on 30 April 2004 that on the same day, John White, Mike
Farley, John Millar and David Bryant executive directors, sold the following
number of ordinary shares in the Company at an average price of £6.6435 per
share and therefore they are no longer beneficially or non-beneficially
interested in such shares.

*4,616 of Mr White's shares and 50,000 of Mr Farley's shares are held in FURB
trusts.

The directors sold these shares in order to settle tax liabilities on the recent
vesting of share rights.

The Company was also advised on 29 April 2004 that on the same day, John Millar
sold 1,000 ordinary shares at £6.72 and bought 1,000 ordinary shares at £6.73
for an ISA.

In addition, the Company announces that on 29 April 2004 it was informed that on
23 April 2004 the following Directors and/or their wives took up the following
number of ordinary shares in lieu of the final dividend of 11.3p per share for
the year ended 31 December 2003, payable on the same date.

Of the above figures, 739 of Mr Davidson's shares, 4,616 of Mr White's shares,
374 of Mr Killoran's shares and 2,090 of Mr Farley's shares are held in FURB
trusts. The effective cost per share was £6.27

Following recent transactions, since 1 March 2004 all of the Executive
Directors' shareholdings in Persimmon Plc have increased and the resultant
beneficial holdings are as follows:
