Directors' Share Sale

Persimmon plc (the 'Company') announces that it was today informed that on 27
May 2005, Mr DH Davidson, Non-Executive Chairman, sold 250,000 ordinary shares
in the Company, at an average price of 735.1p. The resultant notifiable interest
of Mr D H Davidson is 16,175,533 shares, or 5.5% of the issued share capital of
the Company.

Mr D H Davidson has informed the Company that he has no present intention of
selling further shares.
