Appointment of Jeffrey Fairburn as an Executive Director

Persimmon Plc is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Fairburn North Division Chief Executive, will be appointed an executive director of the Company on 1 June 2009.

Mr Fairburn (43) has worked for the Company since 1989 in various roles and assumed his current position in 2005.

John White, Chairman said 'Jeff Fairburn's appointment will strengthen the executive management team of the Board which will be of great benefit to Persimmon as we continue to develop our business.'

No further information is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13.
